New Delhi [India], May 23 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Tejasvi Surya on Friday asserted that Pakistan has been the perpetrator of terror against India since its formation. He said that countries like the United States of America (USA) have suffered due to the terrorist infrastructure created by Pakistan.
Surya, who is also part of the multi-party delegation group five, said that multiple terrorist organisations and their leaders had found safe havens in Pakistan, and there was a need to dismantle the terror infrastructure for the safety of the world.
'Insofar as the objective of the delegation is concerned, it is very clear that since the formation of Pakistan, it has been a perpetrator of terror against India. In the last few decades, many countries, including the US, have suffered because of the terrorist infrastructure that Pakistan has created. Multiple terrorist organisations and their leaders, who are internationally wanted, have found safe havens in Pakistan,' Surya told ANI.
The BJP MP said that their multi-party delegation, led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, would visit countries including the US, Panama, Guyana, Brazil, and Colombia.
'It's imperative the world takes note of this and pressurises the Pakistani establishment to dismantle this terrorist infrastructure, not just for peace with India, but for the safety of the rest of the world. Our delegation is being led by Dr Shashi Tharoor and will be visiting some Latin American countries, and we'll head to the USA,' Surya said.
Tharoor, leading one of the all-party delegations for India's global outreach initiative, on Friday emphasised that the objective of the visit is to firmly and constructively present India's perspective on the decades-long terrorism it has faced, particularly from across the border since 1989.
The delegation was earlier briefed by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri regarding the agenda of the global outreach being done to present India's position against terrorism. Tharoor mentioned that the aim of the delegations would be to sensitise opinion towards India. (ANI)
