Joe Ryan earned his seventh win, tied for most in the majors, and Edouard Julien and Ryan Jeffers each homered to lead the host Minnesota Twins to a 7-1 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday afternoon.

The Twins took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the second when Castro led off with a double and scored on a double by Matt Wallner, who scored later in the inning on a sacrifice fly by Julien.
Minnesota extended its lead to 5-1 in the third, parlaying three San Francisco errors and a hit batter into two runs. Kyle Farmer started the rally when he reached on a two-out error by Crawford, went to second when Castro was hit by a pitch and scored when Wallner's routine grounder went through the legs of second baseman Brett Wisely. Castro then stole home on the front end on a double steal.

San Francisco loaded the bases with no outs in the sixth on a double by Crawford, a bunt single by Wisely and a walk by Wade. But reliever Brock Stewart rebounded to strike out Estrada and got Mitch Haniger to pop out, and Jovani Moran ended the threat by getting Michael Conforto to ground out.
