LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, June 30(PIA) -- Another set of COVID-19 recovered patients were sent off from the Benguet General Hospital on Monday, June 29.
Personnel and staff of the Benguet General Hospital(BeGH) led by Hospital Chief Dr. Meliarazon Dulay with Governor Melchor Diclas held a send-off ceremony for the six new recoveries from the hospital facility.
Diclas said all the patients are frontline workers -municipal government employee from Sablan and from La Trinidad, a barangay tanod from Itogon, and two police officers from La Trinidad and one from Buguias.
They were ferried by their respective LGUs to their local quarantine facilities where they will be isolated for another 14 days before going back to their communities and to their respective duties.
La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda and Vice Mayor Roderick Awingan were also present to fetch and welcome the patients from their municipality.
During the send off, the patients were given fruit bearing trees and flowering plants by the hospital staff as reminders of their recovery from COVID-19 and relief packs from the Office of Benguet Caretaker and ACT-CIS Rep. Eric Go Yap.
Dr. Dulay said that all the patients were asymptomatic since they were admitted until they were discharged. They did not show any sign and symptom of illness such as cough, colds or flu but still they were treated and isolated at the hospital for at least 14-days.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Health Office confirmed another patient who recovered from the disease on Monday. The patient is a 60-year-old male from Tuba who has been admitted and discharged from the Pines City Doctor's Hospital in Baguio City.
As more COVID-19 patients from the province are recovering, the BeGH welcomed at the start of the week two more patients - 40 year old male overseas Filipino worker from Atok who came from Nigeria and a 51 year old female farmer from Buguias.
Dulay explained that the OFW admitted in the hospital is not recorded in the province of Benguet and in the Cordillera region since the Department of Health already reflected this in the national aata and classified as Repatriate. This is to avoid double reporting of Confirmed Cases.
As of June 29, the province already recorded 37 confirmed cases with 30 recoveries and seven active cases- six admitted in the Benguet General Hospital while another at the Santo Nino Community Isolation Facility in Baguio City. (JDP/RMC- PIA CAR)
