Cape Town - Argentina have been dealt a blow with the news that hooker Agustin Creevy has been ruled out of the Rugby Championship clash with the Wallabies in Brisbane on Saturday.
The front-rower impressed over the weekend as Los Pumas came agonisingly close to defeating world champions New Zealand, going down 20-16 in Buenos Aires, but was forced off in the second half after suffering a shoulder injury.
Julian Montoya came on as Creevy's replacement against the All Blacks but the 34-year-old's absence means that Santiago Socino is in line to make his debut.
Socino moved to England in 2013 and spent six years in the country, with four of those at Newcastle Falcons, before signing for the Jaguares in May.
Mario Ledesma's men will now look to bounce back from their frustrating opening loss of the competition.
Captain Pablo Matera was pleased with the team's second half efforts against New Zealand but admitted that an improvement is needed for their upcoming match.
"We took another step but in the first half we were too structured. Then we took a little more risk and went well," Matera told reporters.
"He (Ledesma) has worked hard to improve the level of the team and now against Australia we need more again."
Saturday's clash at Suncorp Stadium is scheduled for 11:45 (SA time).
